Integrations: How Can I Use the Buffer Integration?

IN THIS ARTICLE

What is Buffer?

Buffer is a social media management tool that helps businesses manage their social media posts – just like SocialBee. The Buffer integration can also be useful if you don’t have complete access to a social profile, but they are connected to a Buffer account you can log into.

How do I connect a profile to SocialBee via Buffer?

Previously used for direct posting on Instagram, Buffer remains an available integration even at this time.
SocialBee now supports direct posting on Instagram. Here's how to Post to Instagram using SocialBee.

To start posting via Buffer for a profile, you must have it connected to SocialBee first, using one of the buttons at the bottom of your Dashboard. Once that's done, you will be able to customize your Posting Setup.

Once you have found (or connected) the profile you want to post via Buffer with, all you have to do is click on "Posting Setup", switch from SocialBee to Buffer, and, finally, connect your Buffer account.

This will prompt you to log into your Buffer account. Double-check that the email is correct and click on "Allow" for SocialBee to have the necessary permissions to share content via Buffer. You will be redirected to your Posting Setup, so just make sure that the right profile has been selected.

That's it! Now all content and posting settings will still be in SocialBee, but the posting itself will be done through your Buffer account.

How Do I Connect My Instagram to Buffer?

Once you have logged into your Buffer account, you will have to connect the Instagram Business Profile you want to share content to. In order to do this, click on "Manage Channels" at the bottom left corner of the screen.

On the new page, you will be able to see all your connected channels (if there are any). Click on "Connect New Channel" to add your new profile to Buffer.

After clicking on that, you will have a list of profile types that you can connect. On this screen, you will have to click on Instagram Business Account.

A pop-up will let you know that it is necessary to authorize this change with your Facebook Personal Profile. You can read more on this here. To continue, you will have to click on "Authenticate with Facebook".

The next steps will ask you to proceed using your Facebook Personal Profile. It's important to make sure that you are logged into the profile that is an Admin of the Facebook Page connected to your Instagram Business Profile.

Now, you will be able to select the profiles you want to connect (and the matching pages), give Buffer all necessary permissions (do not disable any of these), and, finally, validate that the connection has been completed.

After you've returned to Buffer, you will be prompted to select the channels you want to add. Make sure to tick the right profiles and click on "Add to Buffer" at the bottom right corner of the pop-up.
