How do I enable two-factor authentication?

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your SocialBee account. When 2FA is enabled, you'll be asked to enter a security code when you log in, in addition to your username and password.

The steps for enabling 2FA depend on when your SocialBee account was created:

  • Legacy accounts: Accounts created before January 15, 2025
  • SSO accounts: Accounts created on or after January 15, 2025

How to enable two-factor authentication for Legacy accounts

If you created your SocialBee account before January 15, 2025, follow the steps below.

Enable 2FA with an Authenticator App

  1. From your SocialBee dashboard, click your username in the top-right corner of the screen, then select “Edit Profile.”

  1. Scroll down to the “Settings” section and turn on the “Two-factor authentication: Add an extra layer of security to your SocialBee account” toggle.

  1. Enter your SocialBee password and click “Continue.”

  1. Choose “Authenticator App” to receive your security codes.

  1. Scan the QR code with your phone using an authenticator app. ⚠️Make sure you have an authenticator app installed on your phone. You can use one of the following:
    1. Google Authenticator (iOS / Android)
    2. Duo Mobile (iOS / Android)
    3. Authy (iOS / Android)

  1. Your authenticator app will give you a 6-digit code. Enter it in SocialBee and click “Continue.”

  1. Save your recovery code in a safe place. You'll need it if you lose access to your authenticator app. Click “Continue” to finish setting up 2FA.

Enable 2FA with your email address

  1. Choose “Email Address” to receive your security codes.

  1. Save your recovery code in a safe place. You'll need it if you lose access to your email address. Click “Continue” to finish setting up 2FA.

How to enable two-factor authentication for SSO accounts

If your SocialBee account was created on or after January 15, 2025, we recommend setting up 2FA through your WebPros profile. This way, you can use the same 2FA setup for SocialBee and any other WebPros products connected to your account.

However, you can still enable two-factor authentication directly in your SocialBee account by following the steps below.

  1. From your SocialBee dashboard, click your username in the top-right corner of the screen, then select “Edit Profile.”
  2. Scroll down to the “Settings” section and turn on the “Two-factor authentication: Add an extra layer of security to your SocialBee account” toggle.
  3. Enter the code sent to your email address.
  4. Choose how you want to receive your security codes:
    • Authenticator App
    • Email Address

If you choose Authenticator App

Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, then enter the 6-digit code it generates in SocialBee and click "Continue." Save the recovery code somewhere safe. You'll need it if you lose access to your authenticator app or want to disable 2FA later. Then, click "Continue" again to finish setting up 2FA.

If you choose Email Address

If you choose "Email Address," enter the verification code sent to your email and click "Continue." Then, save your recovery code somewhere safe. You'll need it if you want to disable 2FA later. Click "Continue" again to finish setting up 2FA.

How to disable two-factor authentication

If two-factor authentication is enabled, the toggle will be green.

To disable it, follow these steps:

  1. From your SocialBee dashboard, click your username in the top-right corner of the screen, then select “Edit Profile.”
  2. Scroll down to the “Settings” section and turn off the “Two-factor authentication: Add an extra layer of security to your SocialBee account” toggle.
  3. Enter the recovery code you received when you enabled 2-factor authentication.
  4. Click "Done."
