Welcome! How can we help?

How do I sign up for or log in to SocialBee with Google?

You can now sign up for or log in to your SocialBee account using your Google account, no password needed.

Is "Continue with Google" available for your account?

Starting January 15, 2025, SocialBee introduced SSO, a system that streamlines sign-up and login, especially if you're using multiple WebPros products.

  1. If you started using SocialBee before January 15, 2025 (legacy account), you won't have the option to use Google as a way to log in. You'll continue using your email and password as usual.
  2. If you started using SocialBee on or after January 15, 2025 (SSO account), you can log in with either your Google account or your email and password.

What "Continue with Google" does

If you have an SSO account created on or after January 15, 2025, your SocialBee account is linked to your email address. "Continue with Google" gives you another way to sign in: instead of entering your SocialBee password, you use Google to confirm your identity.

A few things worth knowing:

  • Using “Continue with Google” doesn’t create a second SocialBee account. If you already have a SocialBee account, you can add Google as another way to sign in. You’ll confirm it with a one-time code sent to your email. After that, you can sign in to your existing SocialBee account with Google, without entering a password.
  • We never see your Google password. Google only shares your name and email address with us, and only after you approve it on Google's own screen.
  • You can only connect Google by signing in with "Continue with Google." There’s no separate "Connect Google" button in your profile settings. Once Google is linked, you can disconnect it from your profile settings.

Signing up or logging in with Google

What happens when you click "Continue with Google" depends on whether you've had a SocialBee account on that email address before.

Note: The steps below apply to SSO accounts created on or after January 15, 2025.

You're new to SocialBee

If you don’t have a SocialBee account yet:

  1. On the sign-up page, click “Continue with Google."

  1. Select the Google account you want to use. If you’re not already signed in to Google, you’ll be asked to sign in first.
  2. Google will ask you to confirm that you want to share your name and email address with SocialBee.
  3. Accept our Terms of Use and enter your name if Google didn’t provide it.
  4. That’s it! You’ll be taken to your new SocialBee account.

No SocialBee password is created or required. If you cancel the Google sign-in or close the window, you’ll simply return to the SocialBee sign-up page. No account will be created.

You already have a SocialBee account set up with email and password

If you already have a SocialBee account with that email address and password, you can add Google as another way to sign in.

  1. On the SocialBee login page, click "Continue with Google".
  2. Select the Google account that uses the same email address as your SocialBee account.
  3. Because the email address is already linked to a SocialBee account, we’ll ask you to verify it with a one-time code.
  4. Click “Next” and enter the code we send to your email.
  5. Once verified, Google is added as another way to sign in to your existing account.
  6. After that, you can log in with either your password or Google.

If you click "Back", close the screen, or leave without continuing, nothing changes. Google won’t be linked, and you can keep logging in the way you normally do.

You can’t create two SocialBee accounts with the same email address. If the email already has an account, Google is added to that existing account rather than creating a new one.

“Continue with Google” on the SocialBee mobile app

Because of platform restrictions, “Continue with Google” isn't available in the SocialBee mobile app. How you log in instead depends on your account:

  • If you have a legacy account (created before SSO), you're not affected, so log in exactly as you always have.
  • If you have an SSO account created on or after January 15, 2025 but haven't connected Google, nothing changes for you either, so log in with your email and password, as usual.
  • If you have an SSO account created on or after January 15, 2025 connected with Google, the app will take you to a login screen with your email address already filled in. We'll send a one-time code to that email address. Enter the code to log in, without using your password.

Disconnecting Google from your account

If you no longer want to log in to SocialBee with Google, you can disconnect it from your WebPros account:

  1. Go to your WebPros account → “Security” → "Social sign-in."
  2. Find your Google account in the list and click "Disconnect."
  3. Enter your current password (and your two-factor authentication code, if you have it turned on).
    • 💡 If you signed up with Google and never set a password, this dialog won't accept an empty one, so click "Forgot password?" right there in the dialog to set one first, then disconnect.
  4. You'll see an "Account disconnected" confirmation.

After disconnecting, log in with your email and password. You can reconnect Google at any time by clicking "Continue with Google" again.

Common issues and what to do

What you see or experience What to do
A screen titled "Link Account," saying "You tried to sign in with [your email], but it's already associated with another account" Not an error. Click "Next" and enter the one-time code we email you to add Google as an extra sign-in option, or click "Back" (or just close the screen) to cancel. Nothing changes, and your existing way of signing in keeps working.
The one-time code for that screen never arrives Check your spam folder and request the code again. If nothing arrives, you can still sign in your usual way and use Google later.
Nothing happens, and you're back on the sign-in screen with no message You likely closed or canceled Google's confirmation screen. Nothing was changed; just try again.
You don't see a "Continue with Google" button

If you're using the SocialBee mobile app, this is expected. Because of platform restrictions, “Continue with Google” isn't available in the mobile app. If your SocialBee account is connected to Google, sign in with the one-time code we email you. Otherwise, sign in with your email and password.

If you're signing in on the web with a legacy account created before January 15, 2025, this is also expected. Legacy accounts don't have the “Continue with Google” option. Sign in with your email and password, or select “Forgot your password?” if you don't have a password.

You signed in with Google but land in an empty account, or it doesn't look like yours Make sure you entered the email address you used to sign up for SocialBee.
A message saying "User email is blocked" Double-check that the address is correct and able to receive mail, then contact us at success@socialbee.com so we can help.
A message saying "Access denied, user email domain is restricted" Unfortunately, we can't open an account for this address, and this can't be changed.
You lost access to your Google account and can't sign in You can get back in yourself: use "Forgot your password?" on the sign-in screen to set a password for your address, and sign in with that. You can remove the Google link afterwards if you'd like; see the “Disconnecting Google from your account” section above.
You want to stop using Google for your account Nothing is wrong. You can do this yourself in your profile; see the “Disconnecting Google from your account” section above.

Good to know

  • We can’t merge two SocialBee accounts. If you have one account with your work email and another with your personal Gmail address, they are separate accounts. Sign in with the email address associated with the subscription and content you want to access.
  • One email address can only be linked to one SocialBee account. You can’t create a second SocialBee account using an email address that’s already in use.
  • You can still access SocialBee if you lose access to Google. On the SocialBee sign-in screen, click “Forgot your password?” to set a SocialBee password for your email address. You can then use that password to sign in without Google.

Frequently asked questions

If I sign in with Google, do you get my password?

No, Google confirms who you are and shares your name and email address with us, nothing else.

Will this create a second account?

No, your account is identified by your email address, and one address can only have one SocialBee account.

Will you add Google to my account without asking?

No, if your email address already has an account, we'll ask you first, and you confirm with a one-time code we email you. You can decline and nothing changes.

Can I still use my password if I start using Google?

Yes, signing in with Google doesn't remove any other way of signing in.

Can I use a different Google account with my existing subscription?

Only if that Google account uses the same email address as your SocialBee account. A different address is a different account.

I lost access to my Google account. Am I locked out?

No, use "Forgot your password?" on the sign-in screen to set a password for your email address, and log in with that. You can remove the Google option from your account afterwards if you'd like.

I don't want to use Google anymore. What do I do?

Go to your WebPros profile → “Security” → "Social sign-in" → "Disconnect." See the “Disconnecting Google from your account” section above.
