Overview
Social media accounts connected to regulated industries face stricter platform rules, and some content we can publish for other clients cannot be published for them. This article explains which restrictions apply, what to avoid, and how we can still support your account.
It applies to accounts that promote or are associated with:
- Adult entertainment and subscription content platforms
- Webcam and live-streaming services
- Affiliate programs and aggregators connected to these industries
- Modeling agencies and talent management in this field
- Any other business whose services fall under a platform's adult or restricted content rules
Why these accounts are restricted
Every major platform sets its own rules for adult content, sexual solicitation, and promotion of services connected to them. These rules differ by platform, change often, and are enforced by automated systems as well as human reviewers.
The key point for your account: most platforms restrict promotion of and traffic to adult services, not only the adult content itself. A post that looks harmless on its own can still be removed if it directs people to an adult platform, names one, or sits next to suggestive material. Penalties can include removed posts, reduced reach, restricted features, or suspension of the account.
Because enforcement applies to the whole account, our posting must stay clearly separate from the regulated service. This protects your account, your followers, and the work we do for you.
What to avoid when posting
The rules below apply to everything we publish for your account: images, captions, bios, comments, and hashtags.
Links and brand identifiers
- Avoid domains and web addresses in images, captions, bios (including Linktree and similar link pages), and comments.
- Avoid logos in any graphic.
- Avoid @mentions or tags of the brands' accounts.
Wording and calls to action
- Avoid any mention of adult subscription platforms, webcam services, or adult models.
- Avoid "DM me for details" or similar prompts that move the conversation to private messages.
- Avoid suggestive language next to anything related to the brands.
Imagery
- Avoid suggestive imagery next to anything related to the brands.
- Label any adult material with a content warning on X and Bluesky.
Hashtags
- Avoid adult-industry hashtags such as #adultmodel, #webcam, or #nsfw.
- Avoid hashtags built from the brand names.
Platform-specific notes
The table summarizes how the main platforms treat this category. Policies change, so we review them regularly and adjust our approach.
| Platform | What to know |
|---|---|
| X | Consensual adult content is permitted when it is labeled with a content warning. It is not allowed in highly visible places such as the profile photo, header, or live video. If posts are repeatedly left unlabeled, X may change the account's media settings. See the X Adult Content policy. |
| Bluesky | Consensual adult content is allowed when it is appropriately labeled and age-restricted. Each post needs the correct self-label. See the Bluesky Community Guidelines. |
| Instagram and Facebook | Meta restricts sexual solicitation and sexually explicit language, including offers or requests that point to third-party websites. Suggestive elements next to a promotion can trigger removal. See the Meta Community Standards. |
| TikTok | Rules prohibit content that promotes or redirects traffic to sexual services, premium adult content, or webcam services. Mentions and profile links to such platforms can lead to account removal. |
| Other platforms | Each platform has its own rules. For any platform not listed here, we apply the same restrictions described in this article. |
On X and Bluesky, adult material can be published with the right content label. For all other platforms, we do not publish adult material for these accounts.
What we can publish instead
We can still keep your account active and professional. Content that works well within platform rules includes:
- Brand-neutral content about your agency or team, such as business updates, announcements, and general industry insights
- Educational posts for talent, such as career tips, wellness, and professional development
- Behind-the-scenes content that is clearly non-suggestive
- Community posts, such as questions, polls, and milestones
If you are unsure whether a post idea fits these rules, share it with us before publishing and we will review it.
Quick checklist
Before any post goes live, confirm that it:

- Does not name any adult platform, webcam service, or adult model
- Has no suggestive imagery or language near any brand reference
- Has no "DM me for details" prompt
- Uses no brand-name hashtags and no adult-industry hashtags
- Carries a content warning if it is adult material on X or Bluesky
