Is this guide for you?
If you want to request edits on videos you received, this guide is for you. It applies to the Video First Specialist and Social Media Specialist Standard and Plus plans.
Requesting edits takes 3 steps.
Step 1. Watch the full draft of each video
Watch each video on both desktop and mobile. This lets you review framing, sound, and caption readability the way your audience will see them.
Step 2. Write your notes
Use timestamps. Timestamped feedback is the quickest way to get exactly what you want. Write each note with this formula:
[Timestamp] + Issue (what needs attention) + Action (the change you want)
Use clear, specific language. Specific notes help your specialist deliver the right change on the first try. The table shows how to turn general comments into clear requests:
| Instead of this | Do this |
|---|---|
| "The vibe feels off in this part." | [00:15] "Can we switch the background music from corporate to an upbeat lo-fi track?" |
| "The text is wrong near the beginning." | [00:04] "Change the on-screen title from 'Top 3 Tips' to '3 Daily Habits'." |
| "Cut out that awkward pause." | [00:18–00:21] "Trim the breath and pause before the phrase 'Next up'." |
| "Make the text pop more." | [00:10] "Change the caption highlight color from yellow to brand green (#2ECC71)." |
| "The transition is too jarring." | [00:32] "Remove the whip-pan transition and use a simple straight jump-cut instead." |
💡 Your plan includes a set number of edits each week. Check how many edits you have and focus your requests on the changes that matter most, so they are all covered.
Step 3. Send all your notes together
Put the notes for each video in one message or document, so your specialist can apply them all at the same time. Reply to the delivery email with all your timestamped notes for each video. Sending everything together lets your specialist make every change in one round, which is the best way to have your videos ready in time for posting.
Good to know
If your campaign, website, logo, or branding changes, or you would like a new video style, tell your specialist before production begins for the week. This lets them build the video the right way from the start. Once a draft is created, a new style or direction counts as a new video. Any request that needs major changes or starting from scratch also counts as a new video.
Checklist before sending your feedback
- Watch the full drafts on desktop and mobile.
- Add a timestamp to every note.
