How to schedule & publish Facebook posts

Learn how to schedule a post on Facebook using SocialBee and keep your content organized across multiple social media platforms. Whether you’re posting to a Facebook Page, profile, or Group, SocialBee helps you create, schedule, and manage scheduled posts all in one place.

On what types of Facebook accounts can you post to from SocialBee?

In SocialBee, you can connect both Facebook Pages and Personal Profiles.

  • Facebook Pages: You can schedule and publish posts directly from SocialBee. This includes Feed posts, Reels, and Stories.
  • Facebook Personal Profiles: Posts are published through Reminders. When it’s time to post, you’ll get a notification on your phone to finish publishing from the Facebook app.

If you want to post content to a Facebook Group, you can do that too, but it works a bit differently. You’ll need to use Universal Posting to schedule and share content there.

What types of posts can you share on Facebook?

In SocialBee, you can create and schedule three types of Facebook posts:

  • News Feed posts: Share photos, videos, links, or text updates that appear on your Business Page or profile feed.
  • Stories: Full-screen photos or videos that disappear after 24 hours.
  • Reels: Vertical videos up to 90 seconds long that appear in the Facebook Reels section.

Facebook posting limits explained

You can upload up to 10 images, GIFs, or videos in a single Facebook post when publishing to a Page. For Personal Profiles, the limit is 6 images or up to 10 videos, depending on the post type.

Images and GIFs can be up to 4 MB each, while videos can be as large as 512 MB and up to 45 minutes long.

All Facebook posts can include links, and captions can contain up to 5,000 characters.

Posts that exceed these limits or use unsupported formats will automatically switch to reminder publishing, meaning you’ll receive a mobile notification to post manually through the Facebook app.

How Facebook posts are published from SocialBee

Depending on where you’re posting, SocialBee uses different publishing methods to make sure your Facebook content always goes out on time.

Direct publishing

When you post to a Facebook Page, SocialBee will automatically publish your content at the scheduled date and time. You don’t need to take any extra steps; once you save and approve the post, it’s fully automated.

Publishing via Reminders

For Facebook Personal Profiles, posts are published through Reminders. When it’s time to post, you’ll receive a mobile notification from the SocialBee app. Tap the notification to open your post in the Facebook app and complete the publishing process manually.

This method is also used as a fallback when a post doesn’t meet Facebook’s requirements for direct publishing (for example, unsupported file sizes or formats).

Universal Posting for Facebook Groups

To publish to Facebook Groups, you can use Universal Posting. It allows you to schedule group content inside SocialBee and receive a reminder when it’s time to post. Once notified, you can open the Facebook app and publish your content manually.

Universal Posting is designed for any platform that doesn’t support direct publishing, including Facebook Groups, Mastodon, Quora, and more.

  1. Design or source visuals directly from GIPHY, Unsplash, or Canva without leaving SocialBee.
  2. To tag a Facebook Page, make sure "Customize each" is activated, type "@" in your caption, and paste the Page handle. If a Facebook Page has no @handle, check its URL (e.g., facebook.com/socialbeeio-1234567891234567) and use the numbers at the end as the identifier by adding @ in front (e.g., @1234567891234567).

    • Turn on "Re-queue after posting" to automatically reshare your post multiple times.
    • Enable "Expire post" to stop publishing it after a specific date.

  1. Review the real-time preview on the right side of your screen and make any final edits.
  2. Set your post status:
    • Toggle "This is approved" to schedule it.
    • Mark "This is a draft" if it still needs review.
  1. Click "Create post” to save your content. SocialBee will automatically publish your post at the exact time you’ve scheduled.

Scheduling Facebook posts: Meta Business Suite vs. SocialBee

Meta Business Suite is Meta’s built-in tool for creating and managing scheduled posts on Facebook. It works well for Facebook Pages, but it doesn’t support Personal Profiles or Facebook Groups.

SocialBee gives you more flexibility. You can manage Pages, Personal Profiles, and Groups from one place, as well as other social media platforms.

Here’s how SocialBee goes beyond Meta Business Suite:

  • Works with Pages, Personal Profiles, and Groups (via Universal Posting)
  • Supports Feed posts, Stories, and Reels
  • Lets you schedule, reschedule, and delete posts anytime
  • Includes advanced analytics and downloadable PDF reports
  • Lets you monitor and reply to mentions, comments, and DMs
  • Supports team collaboration and approval workflows
  • Suggests the best posting times based on your performance
  • Helps you manage multiple social media platforms from one dashboard

With SocialBee, you can plan your entire Facebook content calendar, manage all your scheduled posts, and improve your social media game with better insights and automation.
